Natural Family Planning
Natural Family Planning (NFP) allows couples to understand and work with the natural signs of fertility to make informed decisions about the timing of pregnancy—whether they desire to conceive or postpone pregnancy.
With the Billings Ovulation Method®, you learn to recognize the natural signs of fertility, understand your own fertility pattern, and identify times of fertility and infertility throughout the menstrual cycle.
Become Pregnant
When you hope to conceive, understanding your fertility pattern can help you recognize when conception is most likely appropriately time intercourse for pregnancy.
Planning for a particular birth month? We can help you understand when conception would generally need to occur.
Postpone Pregnancy
If you wish to postpone pregnancy, the same understanding of your fertility allows you to identify the fertile phase and make informed decisions about when to abstain from intercourse.
Unlike calendars and apps, which predict fertility based on past cycles, the Billings Ovulation Method® is based on observing your body's natural signs as they occur.
How Does It Work?
The Billings Ovulation Method® is based on observing the natural signs of fertility throughout the menstrual cycle. You learn to recognize changes in cervical mucus and the sensations associated with those changes.
With proper instruction, you learn your own fertility pattern and how to distinguish times of fertility from times of infertility. These observations, together with the rules of the method, guide you in making decisions according to your intention—whether you are seeking pregnancy or postponing it.
The method can be used throughout the reproductive years, including during breastfeeding and perimenopause, when fertility patterns may change.
